CRUI is the Center for Research and Urban Improvement. For the city of Dubai they were looking for a way to know what the citizen think and how the urban life can be improved. The website had to be mainly information and text based though, so no way for creating a small campaign site. My idea has been to create a Flash media space at the top of the page where people can participate.

At first the media space is a colorful menu that shows the different aspects of the city that can be improved. By positioning the cursor on a tab the entire media space gets its color and a message describes the category in a few words.
If you click on it, the real media space appears by expanding the Flash zone vertically and pushing the rest of the page to the bottom. Now you can submit your idea, just type it in the box and hit Enter. Don’t know what to write? Take ideas from others: you can see live what other people are sending appearing in the background.
Did you notice you can actually only type 140 characters in the box?
Well, one more cool feature is that you don’t have to be on the CRUI website to post an idea, you can send it from Twitter! Just type “#crui” before the message and send.
