Tamweel is the major finance company in Dubai, in this project I took care of the Mortgage calculators, which I designed and developed in Flash (AS2).
There are basically 3 calculators, depending on the type of mortgage you need: Flexi Ijara, YUSR, Rent vs Own.
Each calculator is based on complex algorithms that were provided from Tamweel and that I had to translate in ActionScript.
The great feature of these 3 calculators is that they give you real-time update. Start by typing the total value and the down payment, then play around with the scroll bars to define years and percentage, you’ll see your monthly installment being update live! This is a Newsletter that I created for Samsung Middle East. The occasion of the newsletter is a promotion for a trip to Paris.
The artwork combines a technical aspect of the Samsung Omnia mobile phone which is the high quality photo camera that lets you take incredible pictures and the Trip to Paris that you can win if you buy it.

The Top showcases a beautiful artwork that makes you want to know more about it and scroll down inside the Newsletter.
The second step is to give more details about the promotion and make it easy to find “HOW” to participate by clicking on the “Win the Trip” button.
For those who are more interested in the Samsung phone itself rather than the trip, they can skip to the next step which is the details about some technical information that link to the Samsung Mobile website.
Finally comes the help and Support block for those who experience some issues and a footer that, other than giving you legal information, also lists other products that you might be interested in a sort of micro sitemap format.

Gulf Property World is a Real Estate based in Muscat, Oman.
The new website re-design is quite a revolution in the world of real estate websites.
The idea is to find your property without leaving the home page. First you start sorting the price range, number of rooms, type and surface from the “Search” panel, which is entirely customized with scrollers.

Notice the lack of a “Search” button, well, it works LIVE thanks to the power of AJAX the results of your search are shown directly in the Google Map with pins. From the map you can also filter by City and Area with the drop-down menus.

Not only, but the actual properties results are displayed right below in a horizontal scrolling bar, with picture, price, a small description a link to the property page. Notice the “Stay Updated” features: from your search criteria you can receive live updates of the properties you’re interested in by email, RSS feed and even SMS.

Wait, we’re not done yet. From the properties search results you can also add some to your favorites, how? well, by a simple drag and drop.

With good and growing reputation in the Middle East, Sabban’s philosophy is to create buildings and houses that consume as less energy as possible and don’t destroy the environment, all this achieved by using special materials and applying the latest technologies in and out the constructions.
Through this Flash microsite you will learn more of how Sabban helps the environment and also how YOU can help, by reducing the amount of energy you consume.

The way I designed this project is to create a sort of Game-website. It starts with a range of islands, you pick one, on top of which, resides a dirty and over-polluted city!

Citizens are unhappy and the quality of lifestyle is really bad.
By exploring the city you will find interesting informations on what is really making the urban center so polluted. If you choose one of the apartments in a building, you can see that the lamps used are old and consuming too much energy for the light quality they give. Going through the speech bubbles you can learn which are the lamps that consume less, the most environment-friendly, and the ones that Sabban uses.
You changed the lamps in all the buildings? Perfect, now the city is doing a bit better, but there’s still a lot to do…

Once you cleaned up your island, it can be finally posted to the gallery together with everyone else’s and shared to the world! Start by sending it to a friend!

CRUI is the Center for Research and Urban Improvement. For the city of Dubai they were looking for a way to know what the citizen think and how the urban life can be improved. The website had to be mainly information and text based though, so no way for creating a small campaign site. My idea has been to create a Flash media space at the top of the page where people can participate.

At first the media space is a colorful menu that shows the different aspects of the city that can be improved. By positioning the cursor on a tab the entire media space gets its color and a message describes the category in a few words.

If you click on it, the real media space appears by expanding the Flash zone vertically and pushing the rest of the page to the bottom. Now you can submit your idea, just type it in the box and hit Enter. Don’t know what to write? Take ideas from others: you can see live what other people are sending appearing in the background.

Did you notice you can actually only type 140 characters in the box?
Well, one more cool feature is that you don’t have to be on the CRUI website to post an idea, you can send it from Twitter! Just type “#crui” before the message and send.

Flash Presentation for the Channel Islands Stock Exchange. The presentation is managed by a CMS made in Flash too that controls all the aspects of the slides. The main menu is a pie chart where you can select a section by clicking on a slice.

In the video below you can see some of the slides I created matching the content of the old PowerPoint the client used to have.

Capitala organizes every year the World Tennis Championship, and 2008 was for Abu Dhabi. 6 world champions participated: James Blake, Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Nikolay Davydenko in a 3 days championship.

The way I organized the website was by having 2 main steps: before the tournament for 2 months, the home page was focused on WHEN and WHERE the tournament would be. A Flash countdown was displaying the time left before the tournament start, on the right side a big “Get Your Tickets” button invited you to buy your places.

During the championship, the home page changed automatically its aspect to focus on the happening events: the tournament. The countdown is replaced by a Live Score that gives you live updates of the scores. In the middle of the page a diagram shows you the Schedule for the next days.
And the winner is….

Webdesign of the new online store for the furniture company Avant Garden. Avant Garden is based in the UK and their outdoor furniture products are high quality ones, they focus on quality, not quantity. I based my design on osCommerce, which allows the client to manage the products via a simple interface.

During the holy muslim month of Ramadan, the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank has chosen to promote its brand and help the community by giving away 1 flight ticket to the Makkah every day. The way to win the ticket was to simply participate to the Online Omniyatramadan campaign. omniyatramadan.com

In the islamic world there is one sentence per day during the month of Ramadan that is good to share with people, something like “God bless you” and similar. The idea I came up with is to have the famous Ramadan lamps that rotate in a dark room and the daily message coming out from it in a sort of smoky way. You can rotate the lamps to chose the message you like, and then send it to a friend. By going through the “sending” process you fill up a form, and that’s how the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank gets your contact information. At the end of the day one participant is picked up randomly and wins the trip!

I took care of the design in Photoshop, and drawn the lamps in Illustrator that have been modeled after that in 3ds Max by the 3D artist Alireza Bidar, some special effects have been added in After Effects and the Flash guru behind the hardcore Actionscript programming is Guillaume Jousse.
